Renaissance & Regeneration

First TransPennine Express will continue to support the renaissance and regeneration of, and inward investment in key areas across the North of England by actively improving the facilities and services available through our train stations and by working with local authorities, regional development agencies and railway heritage.  We will work with Network Rail and the Department for Transport to ensure that our train stations are welcoming, safe and accessible.

We have:

• Undertaken a £12m station investment programme at our train stations
• Secured an additional £5m investment from third parties

We aim to:

• Support Community Rail in Cumbria to improve the patronage of the Windermere branch line
• Support the York and Scarborough Ambassador programme to improve the attractiveness of York as a key visitor destination
• Support the Manchester Airport Community network by enabling visits by drivers, conductors and technical inspectors
• Undertake inward investment pilot schemes at Blackpool, Scarborough and Cleethorpes
