Community
FTPE joins up communities across our network. We also recognise that through our people FTPE plays an important part in the community we serve. We will ensure that our train services are accessible to those who find public transport a daily challenge because of issues of mobility and accessibility. We recognise that good health is important to our people and we will actively support activities which support well being and quality of life.
In line with FirstGroup’s strategy, our three main areas will cover:
- Community partnerships
- Charitable giving
- Employee volunteering
We aim to:
- Provide support for youth fitness through sponsorship of team sports kit at four locations
- Support Disability Sport England awards on an annual basis
- Offer sign language training for our people at key stations
- Undertake sponsorship of shop mobility scooters at York and the development of Travel Extra at Hull to provide improved accessibility
- Raise £30,000 for the Save the Children charity
- Support fund raising activities and raise £20,000 for charities chosen by staff
