Social Responsibility
We are committed to providing a safe environment for work and travel. Plus, we’ll work to minimise disruption to our train services, any threat of violence or harm to our customers and staff. We will work with British Transport Police (BTP) and industry partners to reduce assaults and crimes committed across our rail network.
We aim to:
- Reduce the number of passenger injuries in line with the annual safety plan
- Provide continued support for Police Community Support Officers to improve detection and crime prevention.
- Work with British Transport Police to lobby for additional Police Community Support Officers to focus on crime reduction across the FTPE network.
- Support BTP to deliver key targets regarding staff assaults.
- Undertake school visits to support the Network rail No Messin’ campaign and work to reduce the number of objects striking our trains.
- Provide funding for five safety bursaries to the value of £500 each to fund safety projects in the vicinity of any of our train stations and rail depots.
