A TRAVEL advisor from Dewsbury has been short listed for a national award.
Donna Jasiewicz, who works at Dewsbury Railway Station, has been nominated for the accolade of 'Outstanding Personal Contribution' at the National Rail Awards 2008.
Donna has worked at the First TransPennine Express station for five years and is loved by customers and colleagues alike. In the time Donna has worked at Dewsbury she has helped thousands of passengers.
Donna's great customer service has included a 160-mile round trip from Dewsbury to Middlesbrough to retrieve some luggage a customer had left on a train. Donna brought the luggage back to Dewsbury and delivered it directly to the passenger and all in her own time.
Donna was also praised when she stayed on after her shift to help a customer who had fainted on the platform.
Paul Jackson, station manager at Dewsbury, said that these are just a few examples of Donna's commitment.
He said: "We are all really proud of Donna and the great work that she does. There are so many times when she has gone above and beyond to help somebody. She really deserves to win this award and we all wish her the best of luck."
The National Rail Awards take place tomorrow night (Thursday), at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London.
