Did you have a good time at Leeds festival? We, the team at Transpennine Express, certainly did!
Headliners the Foo Fighters, The Cure and Kasabian were gracing the northern city over the Bank Holiday weekend.
We couldn't think of a better place to face both outpours of rain and glorious sunshine than at Braham Park. Luckily, our good friends over at Berghaus HQ were kind enough to send us some jackets, making sure we were dry, comfortable and stylish over the festival weekend. Berghaus' outdoor clothing proved to be the perfect companion to help get us through the weekend and the ever unpredictable weather. Well, it wouldn't be a British summer if it didn't rain, right?
And what a stunning weekend of live music it was, from Foo Fighters, Kasabian and The Cure rocking it on the Main Stage, to fantastic performances from Crystal Castles, The Vaccines, The Gaslight Anthem, Florence and the Machine, Graham Coxon, Foster the People and the Hives, to name but a few.
Over a hundred and fifty bands and acts from Leeds to Las Vegas shared the same stages for a long weekend of excellent entertainment like no other.
We went wild during the Foo Fighters performance - all 2.5 hours of it!
And how good was Jake Bugg? Jake, whose career really kicked off after the beer advert, drew a packed crowd.
Saturday's headliners, The Cure, who last appeared at Leeds's Reading counterpart in 1979, played 32 songs and offered something for everybody, although the teens singing along to the more recent songs, were outdone by the older fans who glowered knowingly to A Forest and One Hundred Years.
Closing the festival on Sunday were Leicester rockers Kasabian, performing some of their biggest hits to a packed crowd.
We hope you enjoyed Leeds festival as much as we did. At Transpennine Express, the sponsors of Leeds festival, we're looking forward to servicing you again next year. Don't forget to book your trains to Leeds in advance to receive great discounts! See you in 2013!
