A local train operating company is providing travel inspiration for customers across the north of England and into Scotland.
First TransPennine Express (FTPE) has launched an online travel guide that provides activity suggestions across the 100 plus locations on its network.
The 'Go Explore' search function on www.tpexpress.co.uk/train-destinations/ is quick and simple to use and will provide details about what is going on and where's good to visit.
Inspiration hunters can search by location, by date or if they are feeling adventurous the guide will return a random destination. The results can be categorised into events, local attractions, theatres, food and drink establishment and much more.
Helen Peacock, Digital Customer Engagement Manager said,
"Our trains serve lots of amazing destinations with literally thousands of events and activities available to enjoy.
"Using the train to visit these locations is an easy and stress free option and the 'Go Explore' search function can provide that little bit of inspiration for your next journey.
"We want to encourage upcoming events and local attractions to promote themselves for free by uploading the details of their inspiration to our website. It's a great way to tell people what's going on."
Developed in partnership with Manchester based digital agency, Code ComputerLove, the inspiration guide pulls in data feeds but uniquely also gives event promoters, local attractions and customers the opportunity to upload their own 'Go Explore' suggestion to www.tpexpress.co.uk
This free service helps to increase event and attraction visibility and provides customers with full contact details and the ability to further share the 'Go Explore' suggestion with their friends and family via social sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
'Go Explore' provides some great ideas for days out and with FTPE's advance purchase fares, available through www.tpexpress.co.uk customers can save over 50 per cent on their next train journey.
