Six steps to Liverpool
It's fast becoming one of the UK's favourite destinations for a city break. We offer up some of the best reasons to visit Liverpool...
1. The Panoramic
Liverpool has
an abundance of well-reputed eateries to choose from, but few can
boast the views that this place can. Set 34 floors up, the name The
Panoramic says it all - incredible uninterrupted views across the
city, river and surrounding landscape. The food is good, too, with
recommendations in both the Good Food and Michelin guides, and the
likes of scallops with suckling pig tortellini and apple panacotta
on the menu.

2. Mersey Ferries
There are some things that, however obvious, are a must-do in
this city - and taking a ferry 'cross the Mersey, complete with
singalong, is one of them. It's the best way to see the
world-famous Pier Head waterfront, which, thanks to its three
stunning Edwardian buildings and other historic areas of the city,
qualifies Liverpool as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

3. Liverpool ONE
Shopping isn't a new pastime to Liverpool, but ONE has certainly
revolutionised the experience. Costing £1bn and with 42 acres of
retail wonderland, it features big brand names as well as smaller
boutiques.

4. Albert Dock
The Albert Dock is home to some of the city's most impressive
attractions, including Tate Liverpool, which is the country's
largest gallery of modern and contemporary art outside London, and
the Maritime Museum, which tells the story of Liverpool's port.

5. Aintree
If you only see one sporting event in Liverpool, there's little
to compare with the history and prestige of the Grand National.
First held in 1839, Aintree's biggest event now attracts 600
million television viewers.

6. Hard Day's Night Hotel
The city's first Fab Four-inspired hotel. Situated in a Grade
II-listed building which was built in 1884, it has been transformed
into a four-star luxury hotel full of memorabilia and images of
Liverpool's most famous sons. There's even a Lennon Suite decked
out in white, complete with a baby grand piano! And while you're in
Liverpool, why not visit The Beatles Story with its amazing Fab 4D
experience!
