Why take the train to Barnetby?
Barnetby - also sometimes known as Barnetby le Wold - is situated just between Scunthorpe and Grimsby. The station is popular with railway enthusiasts, so you're sure to encounter a few waiting for the freight to pass through when you step off one of our trains to Barnetby...
This pretty village's main attraction is the Grade I listed St Mary's Church. Built in the 11th century, it's now cared for by the Churches Conservation Trust - see if you can spot the carving of the cat on the northern side of this historic building.
The famous 'Viking Way' passes directly through Barnetby, so why not spend some time following in ancient footsteps? Or, if you'd prefer, you can browse the selection of local shops, and then stop off for a drink or a bite to eat in the Whistle & Flute pub.
