Why take the train to Conisbrough?
Conisbrough’s main attraction is Conisbrough Castle. Built in the 12th century and now managed by English Heritage, the building is one of South Yorkshire’s most popular tourist attractions. Over 30,000 visitors a year come to wander around the impressive remains and get a unique insight into life in a medieval castle.
History buffs who take a train to Conisbrough will find plenty to explore beyond the castle too as the town also boasts the 8th century Anglo-Saxon St Peter's Church, believed to be the oldest building in South Yorkshire.Buy tickets
