Why take the train to Hatfield & Stainforth?
As you can probably guess from the name, Hatfield & Stainforth station mainly serves the towns of Hatfield and Stainforth.
Hatfield is located just outside Doncaster in South Yorkshire, and is surrounded by the villages of Dunscroft, Dunsville, Hatfield Woodhouse and West End. Stainforth is perhaps best known outside the local area as the filming location for Brassed Off, which follows the exploits of a colliery brass band following the closure of the pit.
The area is popular with commuters thanks to its good transport links to Doncaster, and so most people who take a train to Hatfield & Stainforth are travelling home at the end of the working day.
