Some key events worth planning and booking travel in advance:

Middleton Railway - 50th Birthday – 18th – 19th September

Come and enjoy the Middleton’s home fleet of steam locomotives joined by some special guest engines running the entire length of the railway. Both passengers and freight trains will be in operation with an intensive special timetable.  Other attractions will be on display at our Moor Road station and Engine House museum, so there will be plenty to see and do.  For more information please visit Manchester Ship Canal Gala.

Kirkstall Abbey Estate

If majestic Cistercian abbey ruins aren't enough to keep you occupied, at the visitor centre you'll find more to see and do. There's also Abbey House museum across the road.

Temple Newsam Estate

Is chock full of fascinating detail in every nook and cranny. We could spend hours devouring the Chinese drawing room alone.

Roundhay Park

Acres of greenery to fill those lungs with fresh air and a tropical world right here near Leeds, where you can marvel at exotic creatures and creepy crawlies.

Middleton Railway

The 250 year old steam engine railway is a treat for kids and train enthusiasts alike. If you're neither just sit back, enjoy the ride and watch the world go by.

Thwaite Mills
