Manchester Airport benefits from having a train station within the Airport making travelling by train the ideal way to start or end your trip, whether that's for leisure or business.
There are direct services to and from over 100 destinations across the North of England and Scotland operating almost 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Approximately 6 trains an hour operate from and to Manchester Piccadilly station in the centre of the city during the day with a journey time of around 20 minutes. Connections to other parts of the country can be made at Manchester Piccadilly.
Arriving at the Airport by Train
On arrival at the train station follow signs to the terminal buildings. Lifts, escalators and moving walkways are provided.
Terminal 1: approximately a 5 minute walk
Terminal 2: approximately a 10 minute walk
Terminal 3: approximately a 7 minute walk. A frequent shuttle bus operates from outside the train station and outside the arrivals hall of Terminal 3.

On arrival at the airport follow signs to The Station. Lifts, escalators and moving walkways are provided. Self service ticket machines are available within the baggage reclaim areas if you haven't already purchased your train tickets.
Buying Train Tickets
Train tickets can be purchased in advance by clicking here. Tickets can also be purchased from the self service ticket machines within the Airport's baggage reclaim areas and from the ticket office at the train station. Pre-booked tickets can also be collected from the self service ticket machines.
The ticket office within the train station provides information on all onward train journeys and tickets.
Local bus services operate to Manchester Airport providing links to the train for onward travel for local residents and commuters. The bus station at the Airport is a two minute walk from the train station.
