Manchester, often dubbed the Capital of the North, is one of the most dynamic and lively places in Europe. A big city with a compact and friendly centre.
Manchester was at the epicentre of the industrial revolution, and the spirit that brought the world into the modern age is evident in surrounding architecture – such as the gothic Town Hall in Albert Square. Over the last few years an extensive regeneration project has resulted in a new shape to Manchester's skyline – notably the Hilton Beetham Tower.
Manchester also boasts two of the biggest football clubs in the world; Manchester United and Manchester City. The later can be found within 3 miles of Manchester Piccadilly train station.
Being the major hub of the North combined with continued public investment, transport links in and around Manchester are second to none. Along with regular bus, coach and tram services, Manchester boasts four large train stations all within the city centre. Piccadilly Train Station is the main central train hub for the North offering regular train services from the centre of Manchester to London, Scotland, Central England, the North East and most UK coastal towns.
