There aren't many venues in the UK that can rival the Empire in Middlesbrough for a gig. This magnificent building was derelict until it was restored in 1991 by Barry Faulkner. Since then bands such as Kasabian, Editors, Scissor Sisters and Bloc Party have brought this place back to life making The Empire a venue which epitomises what a gig venue should be like.
The Dickins Inn
If you are visiting one of your friends on one of our trains to Middlesbrough then you are sure to experience a night at The Dickins Inn. Situated in the centre of the University of Teeside campus, The Dickins Inn is a student bar to meet all your needs. The perfect location for food, drink and entertainment, it also has a beer garden, balcony and outside terrace.
Blu and Basement
Middlesbrough's number one gay friendly venue is Blu and Basement. It is home to the biggest and best gay friendly night in Teesside 'SATUR-GAY'. Entrance to Blu is free and hosts the 'SATUR-GAY pre party'; an entry fee is required to enter Basement.
If you're looking for the best place to go clubbing in Middlesbrough then look no further than The Arena. With a real warehouse feel to it, The Arena has a capacity of 1000 people and was voted as one of the top 100 clubs in the world in 2011 by DJ Magazine.
