The Merchant Adventurer's Hall
is a superb example of medieval guild hall in York and at 650
years old, it looks pretty good too. Don't forget to visit the
unique furniture, silver and art collections.
York Art Gallery
The grand 19th Century building provides a comfy home for
masterpieces that span 600 years. From 14th Century Italian Panels
to the likes of LS Lowry and David Hockney. A great place for
culture on your visit to York.
Treasurer's House
Once the home of the minster's medieval treasurers, this pretty
17th Century house is now rife with ghost stories - don't go down
to the cellar alone.
Roman Bath Museum
An underground museum in York where you can marvel at the
remains of Roman baths and artefacts and then pop upstairs for a
pint in the Roman Bath Public House.
York Brewery
The daily guided tour includes generous beer sampling. We
recommend a good hearty breakfast before you embark on this
particular outing!
