May 2014 Timetable Changes

Changes to Our Services From 18 May 2014

From Sunday 18 May, many of our services changed with the launch of our May 2014 timetable, bringing improvements that provide better connections and faster journeys between major cities in the north of England and Scotland, not to mention extra seats and more choice for you when travelling with us.

What are we doing?

We’re introducing a brand new super shiny fleet of electric trains into service between Manchester and Scotland, with 90,000 more seats each week across all our services from May.

What changed?

Many of our services between Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds and Newcastle are faster on average, including more frequent services, which means more choice and flexibility for you. Many peak-time trains will also improve, with more seats and services timed to get you into work before 9am. And that's not all. For instance, did you know...

    • There are now 5 services per hour between Leeds and Manchester, rather than 4
    • There are now hourly services throughout the day between Manchester and Scotland
    • Journey times from Newcastle to Liverpool are up to 43 minutes faster
    • There are now 50,000 more seats per week between Leeds and  Manchester
    • Services every hour between Newcastle and Liverpool
    • More carriages everyday on routes to and from Cleethorpes, Sheffield and Hull
    • Faster journeys between big cities such as Liverpool, Manchester and Leeds
