Darren Higgins, Commercial Director for TransPennine Express said: “We’re committed to providing value for money for customers and many of our cheapest tickets are now available to buy up to ten minutes before departure on many of our routes such as Liverpool to Manchester for £5.90.”
Our regulated fares which include season tickets and off-peak period return tickets will not be increasing by more than the prescribed government formula of 3.6%.
The money generated by ticket sales goes back into improving the service to our customers. We are currently delivering an investment of £32 million upgrading our existing, modern trains to like new standard. This includes brand new seats and carpets throughout as well as free on train Wi-Fi and entertainment through Exstream. Next year starts to see the introduction of £500 million worth of new train investment which will provide more journey opportunities, quicker journey times and 13 million more seats a year onto the TPE network.”
