TPEXPRESS APP
Our app is the ultimate travel buddy; book tickets, check live train times, and more.
This might include travelling by train to one of the fantastic cities or towns across our network. Just remember to follow government guidance on travel.
And when you’re ready to get going, we’re here for you. The first step is to help you to understand what travelling with us looks like. We’re here to set your mind at ease and help you feel confident about travelling for when you’re ready to take the train again. From how we’ll be keeping you safe during future journeys to what you can do to ensure you’re protected and prepared, we’re ready when you are.
Whether you’re travelling for work or pleasure, your safety is always going to be our primary concern. That’s why we’ll be here every step of the way to make sure every journey is as smooth as possible.
Here’s what you can expect when travelling with us:
To help minimise the time you need to spend in the station, we’ll be making sure contactless e-tickets are available to purchase in advance online as well as on our TPExpress app.
At the station, all you’ll need to do is open up your e-ticket in the TPExpress app or on your email confirmation and scan the barcode at the ticket barriers. And if you can, reserve a seat before you board to help with social distancing.
We ramped up our cleaning capacity last year and we won’t be slowing this down any time soon. Today, you’ll find all our stations and trains are regularly cleaned by a huge team of colleagues. They’re dedicated to keeping handrails, toilets, buttons and doors disinfected so you and your fellow passengers can minimise the spread of germs. And to top it all off, we’ve been using Zoono – an antimicrobial misting treatment – to deep-clean trains in between services.
After months of only socialising with a few people at most, the idea of going to a train station may understandably seem daunting. We’ll be doing everything we can to make it is as calming as can be by ensuring you have plenty of room to spread out and have access to hand sanitiser points throughout all of our managed stations. Our friendly colleagues will also be on hand to encourage people to wear face coverings and to answer any queries you might have.
To really highlight our new safety measures, we’ve also received the We’re Good to Go accreditation from Visit Britain. This certifies that we’re appropriately following all the relevant government guidelines when it comes to COVID-19 health and safety regulations.
Keen to find out more? You’ll find plenty of additional info on how we’re keeping you safe on our website. And when it does come time to travel, make sure you bear in mind the following five safety tips:
1. Wear a face covering across your mouth and nose onboard trains and in stations (unless you have a medical exemption or are under 11 years old).
2. Wash or sanitise your hands regularly during your journey.
3. Keep your distance onboard and at stations and stick to any current social distancing guidelines. When onboard, sit at a window seat to keep the aisles clear for other passengers and train crew.
4. Don’t travel if you have symptoms of COVID-19 or if anyone you live with is isolating/quarantining.
5. Plan your trip in advance, whether that’s pre-booking your tickets on the TPExpress app, travelling at quieter off-peak times or allowing extra time to travel.
When planning your journey remember to check current government travel guidelines. If you can, try to travel during off-peak times and buy tickets in advance to book a seat. And remember, when you’re ready to get going, we’re here for you.
