Wednesday 27th October 2021
Follow a plant-based diet? Or maybe you’re planning on introducing more vegan food into your diet? You’ll find no shortage of brilliant vegan restaurants across the North and Scotland.

In celebration of World Vegan Day in November, we’ve put together the ultimate list of places to wine and dine, snack or brunch in the region. And the best thing? All of them have either exclusively vegan or very vegan-friendly menus.

Dig into some delicious grub at the following restaurants located along our network:

  1. V Rev Vegan Diner, Manchester

    Location: 20-26 Edge Street, Manchester M4 1HN

Craving some comfort food on your next trip to Manchester? Head to the trendy Northern Quarter to find this all-vegan venue. V Rev Vegan Diner is situated on Edge Street and it specialises in plant-based fast food.

Order up a moreish ‘beef’ burger, savour a seitan fried ‘chicken’ bun or tuck into a jumbo hotdog covered in crispy onions and secret sauce. V Rev also have four different vegan mac and cheese options to salivate over, as well as an amazing milkshake (dairy-free, of course) menu
    .

  2. The Egg Café, Liverpool

Location: Top Floor, 16-18 Newington, Liverpool L1 4ED

Liverpool has long been known for its independent restaurants and that includes this vegan/veggie gem. The Egg Café is a short hop from Liverpool Lime Street station, and it’s one of the best places to grab brunch in the city if you follow a plant-based diet.

Order up a wholesome full English breakfast complete with tofu eggs and hash browns or satisfy your sweet tooth with moreish banana pancakes. You’ll also find lots of light bites for lunch, from bean burgers to rich soups accompanied by freshly baked bread.

  3. Novapizza Vegan Kitchen, Edinburgh

    Location: 42 Howe Street, Edinburgh EH3 6TH

Love pizza, but struggle to find good vegan options? Edinburgh has your back with Novapizza. The Italian restaurant in New Town is run by a family from Rome, so you know you’re getting authenticity when it comes to the toppings and dough.

Must-try pizzas on the menu include the capricciosa, topped with artichoke and mushroom, and the ‘beef’ Bolognese. Or you could tuck into a big bowl of tasty vegan pasta instead. Flavours range from tomatoey amatriciana to creamy carbonara. There are also plenty of gluten-free options on the menu if you have more specific dietary requirements.

  4. Make No Bones, Sheffield

Location: 10 Hicks Street, Neepsend, Sheffield S3 8BL

Nestled inside a cosy former pub, Make No Bones is one of the best kept secrets among vegans in Sheffield. The plant-based restaurant primarily serves up comforting bites like chunky burgers, loaded fries and spicy battered avocado wings.

If you’re planning a trip to the city over a weekend, book a table at Make No Bones for their vegan Sunday Roast.
