The extra 75,000 tickets have been released at the lowest one way fare between Manchester and Scotland of £16.50.
Train services along the West Coast Mainline are expected to return to normal on Monday after repairs to the Lamington viaduct, north of Carlisle, are completed. The viaduct was severely damaged during Storm Frank in December, cutting FTPE services between England and Scotland.
To keep customers moving between the two countries, FTPE has put on more than 1,700 rail replacement coaches.
FTPE Customer Service Director Kathryn O’Brien said: “We wanted to make these extra cheap fares available to help celebrate the reopening of the Lamington viaduct and thank our customers for their patience during the disruption. We know catching the rail replacement coaches has added extra journey time, so we wanted to give something back to our regular rail users. This is a great deal for customers who plan ahead, with a return trip to Edinburgh costing as little as £33."
The tickets are currently on sale for travel between Monday February 22nd and March 22nd 2016. The tickets must be bought up to 48 hours in advance of the travel date.
Terms and conditions apply.
For customers travelling this weekend- rail replacement coaches will remain in place in both directions between Edinburgh/Glasgow and Carlisle/Lockerbie.
