Each three carriage, Class 185 train is being rebranded in metallic silver featuring the North Star with the design reflecting the company’s pledge to ‘Take the North Further’.
The new vinyl is being applied to 51 trains in total with the work taking place in the North of England at the Siemens Train Care Facility in Ardwick, Manchester.
More than 17 miles of film will be used to cover the entire train fleet with around 180sqm being applied to each individual train, roughly the same size as a four-bed detached house.
Shortly, the interior of these trains will also be treated to a full refurbishment and each will be fitted out with brand new seat covers, carpets and charging points will be installed at every pair of seats.
Fast free Wi-Fi is also being installed on these trains as well as an on-board entertainment system featuring a wide range of films, TV shows, newspapers and magazines.
Starting from 2018, TPE will also be introducing 44 brand new, state-of-the-art trains as part of a £500 million investment.
