TPE and ScotRail launch joint fares initiative

  • Customers can save up to 50% on journeys between Manchester Airport, Preston and Lancaster with selected destinations in Scotland with new discounted fares

TransPennine Express (TPE) and ScotRail have introduced joint discounted flexible tickets between selected stations on their respective networks.

Customers will be able to travel at a discounted price between Manchester Airport, Preston and Lancaster with selected stations in Scotland, such as Dundee, Perth and Aberdeen. These discounted prices are available to customers wishing to travel in first class, as well as standard class too.

For those wishing to travel between Preston and Dundee, customers can save £26 on their journey thanks to this initiative, with a single between the two stations costing from £75 compared to the usual £101, while a single for customers wanting to travel between Aberdeen and Lancaster costs from £75 compared to the usual £128, meaning a saving of 41% for customers.

James Cohen, Head of Revenue Management for TransPennine Express, said: “We are always looking for ways to help save our customers money and this joint initiative with ScotRail will save our customers on average around 30% per journey.
