Train fares freeze

19 Nov 2009

First TransPennine Express (FTPE) is freezing its fares and selling one million Advance Purchase tickets as part of a major campaign to offer passengers more value for money.

The train operating company is keeping fares at June 2009 prices and will be offering a series of different money saving offers to passengers throughout the year.

Leo Goodwin, Commercial Director, said: "There will be no January fares rise and with one million of our cheapest tickets available there is now even more opportunity to book in advance and take advantage of some fantastic offers.

There are lots of great places to visit across our network and our value for money campaign will make it even better value to enjoy a day out or weekend away."

Passengers have already benefited from a number of successful offers this year including a children travel free campaign, half price travel for students and reduced fares for the over 55's.
