TransPennine Express launches four year plan for the North and Scotland

28 Jun 2016

Inter-city train operator TransPennine Express (TPE) has launched a new four-year plan with customers at its heart.

With a vision for our colleagues of ‘Together, we're taking the North Further’ the plan will lead to the delivery of new trains, more seats and faster journey times, creating more opportunities for businesses and communities to connect and prosper.

TPE colleagues have been involved in the making of our new video, ‘Platform providers’, which brings to life our plan and shows our passion and enthusiasm for the service we deliver

The video is voiced by some of our drivers, conductors and station colleagues from across the TPE network. A wide range of northern and Scottish dialects can be heard, illustrating the vast and diverse regions our train company serves.

The plan itself is divided into five main areas which are customer experience, transformation and growth, people and sustainability, health and safety and business management.

Over the next four years, TPE will deliver an investment of over £500million which will transform rail services across the North and into Scotland.

This investment includes the introduction of 220 brand new carriages which will provide an additional 13million seats per year – enough to fill Old Trafford stadium more than 150 times.
