Why take the train to Adlington?
Adlington is a former textile town located a few miles northwest of Bolton and on the very edge of the West Pennine Moors. Adlington station also serves the villages of Anderton and Heath Charnock – in fact, the three areas are now so close together and the borders between them so blurred that even locals struggle to see where one ends and the other begins!
Many people take a train to Adlington to visit the pretty White Bear Marina, which is linked to over 2,000 miles of inland waterways and attracts cyclists, walkers, anglers and boat owners from all over the country.
From Friday 1st April 2016, services to this station will be operated by Northern.Buy tickets
