Once a centre for coal mining, Blackrod lies just over six miles west of Bolton. There are still lots of traditional stone cottages and farms in and around the area, as well as a pretty Norman parish church – so taking a train to Blackrod and wandering round the village is a lovely way to spend a sunny Saturday afternoon.
Blackrod station, which is especially popular with commuters wishing to travel to nearby Bolton and Wigan, was recently refurbished. We offer regular, convenient train services to the station – so next time you’re travelling to Blackrod, why not give us a try?
From Friday 1st April 2016, services to this station will be operated by Northern.Buy tickets
