The Echo Arena stands at the heart of the development at Kings Waterfront and is home to a thriving events calendar all year round. The award-winning facilities sit alongside the Grade I listed Albert Dock complex and World Heritage Site on the eastern bank of the river Mersey, in the heart of Liverpool city centre. This December the Echo Arena plays host to Radio City Christmas Live with a huge line-up including Olly Murs and Sigma. Michael McIntyre will perform hotly anticipated ‘Happy & Glorious’ and families can enjoy ‘A Song for Christmas.’
Enjoy a slice of Irish culture at brand new Irish Pub, McCooley’s in the heart of Liverpool’s busy nightlife centre, Concert Square. Open from 8am – late, 7 days a week McCooley’s has something for everyone from cocktails inspired by old Irish tales to a fine selection of lagers, stouts, real ales and craft beers. Sports fans are certainly catered for with large projectors and televisions showing all sports events. Live acts perform every night and over the weekend seeing the venue play host to live Irish bands and DJ sets.
The Empire Theatre is considered the second largest theatre in the country and located on Lime Street, couldn’t be easier accessible by train. The theatre plays host to big-name touring productions, musicals and concerts. A firm family favourite and this year’s Christmas panto, Dick Whittington tells the rags to riches tales of a young man and his cat from 12th December through to 3rd January.
The Beatles first performed on this stage 50 years ago, and even today the Cavern club is still one of the city’s top music venues and is certainly a must when visiting Liverpool.
Today, the club has two stages offering a variety of live music daily. The iconic stage beneath the brick arches in the front of the club is the image most associate with the Cavern Club.
