We aim to provide a healthier and more comfortable environment for both passengers and staff, therefore, we operate a no-smoking policy at all of our train stations. Areas such as platforms, retail outlets and concourses, are all no-smoking areas whether the areas covered or uncovered.
This policy is in line with the Smokefree Legislation, which was introduced in the summer of 2007, as part of the Health Act 2006. The government legislation was introduced to ban all smoking in all indoor public places, to decrease the risk of second-hand smoke.
If in any doubt, visitors should check for signage and ask staff for clarification on the no-smoking areas. We would like to thank all of our customers for their co-opertaion
Don’t forget that we also offer free WiFi at a number of our stations if you want to pass the time at the platform whilst waiting for your train.
