Chester-le-Street is a quaint market town in County Durham about 6 miles north of Durham city centre, and a short hop south from Newcastle upon Tyne. As one of the oldest market towns in the county, it still holds regular markets on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays which are popular with locals and visitors.

The town is home to Durham International Cricket Ground and a range of attractions, including Lumley Castle, Lambton Park and Riverside Park. Chester-le-Street has a Roman and Victorian history, which can be experienced on the Heritage Trail around town.
