First TransPennine Express launches TV ad campaign
Train operator First TransPennine Express (FTPE) is launching a TV advertising campaign in support of great value fares and fantastic destinations across the North of England and into Scotland.
FTPE debuted on TV last year and is returning to the small screen with a new series of fun, cheerful and engaging TV adverts, on air for eight weeks from Monday 4th July.
The six-figure campaign was created by full service communications agency, 20:20 Agency, with media agency MEC and will sit alongside radio, press and online activity to encourage travellers to take advantage of the great value offers that are available to book online via the FTPE website, www.tpexpress.co.uk.
Dubbed "More and more people", the campaign is focused on and promotes savings of 50% and more on train tickets across the FTPE network. The advert features a range of interesting characters travelling to destinations, including Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, York, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Actor Max Beesley has been selected as the voiceover for his recognisable Northern accent.
Victoria Tomlinson, Marketing Manager at First TransPennine Express commented: "The new TV commercial is great. It's fun, engaging and quirky, it reflects our ad style and website imagery, and we're looking forward to being seen on TV for the second year in a row."
Samantha Willoughby, Account Director of 20:20 Agency added: "We wanted to build on the success of last year's advertising campaign and evolve the creative to demonstrate our focus on people as well as places. This year's campaign includes an equally light-hearted advert using a range of cheerful characters, that we think will really resonate with FTPE's predominantly leisure based audience."
FTPE's new advert is likely to be seen by 10.6 million people when it is broadcast during primetime programmes such as Emmerdale, Desperate Housewives, Hollyoaks and The Simpsons.
The TV ad can be viewed from Tuesday 5th July by visiting www.youtube.com/tpexpresstrains or by visiting www.tpexpress.co.uk
