• Overnight services between Manchester & Blackpool…20/05/2013 - 24/05/2013

  The 0001 & 0400 Manchester Airport to Blackpool North services will terminate at Preston.

  Replacement buses will run from Preston to Blackpool North.

  The 0337 Blackpool North to Manchester Airport service will start from Preston.

  A replacement bus will run from Blackpool North (dep 0310) to Preston to connect.

• Weekend services to / from Scotland25/05/2013 - 26/05/2013

  Engineering work will be taking place in a number of locations on the route between Preston and Scotland.

  Trains will operate between Manchester and Preston ONLY (at normal advertised times).

  There will be no First TransPennine Express train services north of Preston on this route.

  Replacement bus services will operate between Preston, Lancaster and Oxenholme to provide connections with Virgin Trains services between Oxenholme and Glasgow Central.

  Customers for Haymarket and Edinburgh will need to change additionally at Carlisle.

  (Saturday - The 0545 Manchester Airport to Edinburgh will operate but will be diverted and re-timed to arrive at Haymarket and Edinburgh 54 minutes later than normal).

  To maintain a direct link between Manchester and Edinburgh the following services will operate via the EAST COAST route (via Newcastle):

  Saturday -

  0805, 1005, 1205 & 1405 Manchester Airport to Newcastle services will be extended to Edinburgh

  1015, 1218, 1515, 1702 & 1852 Newcastle to Manchester Airport services will be extended to start back from Edinburgh at 0833, 1040, 1339, 1523 & 1703.

  Sunday -

  0903, 1220, 1420 & 1620 Manchester Airport to Newcastle services will be extended to Edinburgh

  1307 & 1608 Newcastle to Manchester Airport services will be extended to start back from Edinburgh at 1120 & 1422.

  1910 Newcastle to Manchester Piccadilly service will be extended to start back from Edinburgh at 1722.

  Please note that journey times by replacement bus services will be significantly longer than by train and customers should allow additional time to complete their journey.

• Bank Holiday services to / from Barrow25/05/2013 - 27/05/2013

  All day Saturday & Sunday and Monday until 1300:

  Trains will operate between Manchester and Preston at normal advertised times.

  Buses will operate between Preston & Lancaster and between Preston & Carnforth.

• Bank Holiday services to / from Windermere25/05/2013 - 27/05/2013

  Engineering work will be taking place between Preston and Lancaster affecting direct and connecting services to / from the Windermere branchline.

  Trains will operate between Manchester and Preston at normal times.

• Overnight / early morning departures from York26/05/2013 - 26/05/2013

  The 0244, 0359, 0512 & 0612 York to Manchester Airport services will be re-timed to depart York up to 6 minutes EARLIER than normal.

  The 0712 York to Manchester Airport service will be re-timed to depart stations between York and Stalybridge up to 5 minutes later than normal.

  The 0122 & 0443 Manchester Airport to York services will be re-timed to arrive at York 5 minutes later than normal.

• Weekday services to / from Scotland27/05/2013 - 29/05/2013

  Monday until 1300:- there will be no First TransPennine Express services north of Preston on the route between Manchester and Scotland.

  To maintain a direct link between Manchester and Edinburgh the following services will operate via the EAST COAST route (via Newcastle):

  The 1017 Newcastle to Manchester Airport service will be extended to start back from Edinburgh at 0844.

   

  Monday from 1300 until WEDNESDAY:

  Engineering work will be taking place on the normal route between Carlisle and Edinburgh. To avoid the use of replacement buses, services from Manchester to Edinburgh will be diverted between Lockerbie and Haymarket, arriving at Haymarket and Edinburgh up to 50 minutes later than normal.

  The 1200 Manchester Airport to Edinburgh will, however, terminate at Motherwell. A replacement bus will run from Motherwell to Edinburgh.

  Services from Edinburgh to Manchester will be diverted between Haymarket & Lockerbie and will be re-timed to depart Edinburgh and Haymarket up to 50 minutes EARLIER than normal.

  The 0536 Edinburgh to Manchester Airport will be diverted to start from Glasgow Central at 0512.

  The 1814 Edinburgh to Manchester Airport will be diverted to start from Motherwell. A replacement bus will run from Edinburgh (dep 1712) to Motherwell to connect.

  The 1010 Glasgow Central to Manchester Airport service will start from Carlisle.

  The 1309 & 1706 Glasgow Central to Manchester Airport services will start from Lancaster.

  The 0618 & 0900 Manchester Airport to Glasgow Central services will terminate at Carlisle.

  The 1300 & 1700 Manchester Airport to Glasgow Central services will terminate at Lancaster.

  The 0435 Barrow-in-Furness to Lancaster service will not run and will be replaced by a bus.

• Sunday services between Manchester & Preston28/07/2013 - 28/07/2013

  Services from Manchester Airport to Blackpool North will be diverted between Deansgate and Preston and will not call at Salford Crescent , Bolton, Horwich Parkway, Chorley or Buckshaw Parkway. These services will call additionally at Wigan North Western. Normal departure times apply.

  Exception:

  The 2230 Manchester Airport to Blackpool North service will run via it's normal route but will not call at Salford Crescent and will be re-timed to run up to 10 minutes later than normal between Bolton and Blackpool North.

  Services FROM Blackpool North to Manchester Airport will be diverted between Preston and Deansgate and will not call at Buckshaw Parkway, Chorley, Horwich Parkway, Bolton or Salford Crescent. These services will be re-timed to depart Blackpool Noth, Poulton-le-Fylde and Preston 5 minutes later than normal and will call additionally at Wigan North Western.

  Exception:

  The 2303 Blackpool North to Manchester Airport service will run via it's normal route but will be re-timed to depart Bolton and Manchester Piccadilly later than normal.

  Customers for Bolton, Horwich Parkway, Chorley and Buckshaw Parkway should be advised to use Northern Rail services between Manchester Victoria and Preston / Blackpool North.

  Services between Manchester Airport and Barrow-in-Furness, Windermere, Edinburgh and Glasgow Central will be diverted and will not call at Bolton or Chorley.

  A hourly Rail Replacement bus service will operate between Bolton and Manchester Airport direct.

• Overnight services to Huddersfield29/07/2013 - 02/08/2013

  Monday to Thursday

  The 2318 Manchester Airport to York service will not call at Huddersfield and will be retimed to depart Dewsbury at 0040.

  A replacement bus will operate from Huddersfield (dep 0006 tue-fri) to Dewsbury to connect with the train and will then return to Huddersfield.

  Tuesday to Friday

  The 0138 & 0252 York to Manchester Airport services will not call at Huddersfield but will call additionally at Brighouse.

  Replacement buses will operate from Huddersfield (dep 0227 & 0340) to Brighouse to connect with the train which will then return from Brighouse to Huddersfield connecting off the train.

  Replacement buses at Huddersfield depart from Stand S1 on St George's Square outside the main entrance to the station.
