Not only do Advance tickets offer great value for money, book before the day you travel and you'll bag yourself a seat reservation too.
You can now buy train tickets for all TPE routes up to 24 weeks in advance, which is when they are at their cheapest. Advanced tickets are now available for all services up to Christmas 2017.
All you need to do is be flexible with train times and book with us as early as you can to get the cheapest deal - remember, we won't charge you any booking or credit card fees.
In general, Advance tickets must be bought by 18:00 at least one day before you travel, however a limited number of tickets on some routes are available up to 15 minutes before departure.
Once you’ve booked, we’ll try our best to notify you of any scheduled changes, but recommend that you always check journey details before you travel.

Seat reservations are not provided for Advance tickets bought on the day of departure
The majority of advance tickets must be purchased before 18:00 on the day prior to travel, however a limited number of tickets are available on some routes up to 15 minutes before departure (a list of applicable routes is available here)
Savings are calculated by comparing advance purchase standard single ticket fares for 300 TransPennine Express journeys, purchased before the day of travel to the equivalent price of an Anytime Standard Single ticket
Due to the limited availability and popularity of these tickets, please book early to avoid disappointment
Advance tickets are valid only for the train service for which they are booked
Changes to the date and time can be made before departure, but are subject to an administration fee
Advance tickets are non-refundable
If you buy your tickets with a Railcard, don't forget to take it with you when you travel, as your ticket won't be valid without it
