On Tuesday 14th February 2017, anyone that buys a hot drink on board a TPE service will be treated to a free chocolate heart, which they can either enjoy or give to a loved one.
Colleagues from the train company will also be handing out the little pockets of love at Manchester Oxford station from 07:30 until 09:00 on the same day.
Adam Fairclough, Head of Customer Experience Change for TransPennine Express said: “We love our customers and hope this gesture puts a smile on people’s faces. Whether you’re a fan of Valentine’s Day or not, who doesn’t love chocolate, especially when it’s free?!”
In the last six months, the company has developed its on board menu by working with local businesses to supply Northern food and drinks, such as Yorkshire tea and pastries from Lancashire. Fresh ‘proper’ coffee is now available on board the train and the company recently sold its 100,000th cup of the hot stuff.
