TPEXPRESS APP
Our app is the ultimate travel buddy; book tickets, check live train times, and more.
Due to industrial action being taken by RMT members on the 21, 23 and 25 June, TPE will be operating a very limited timetable.
With schools out for summer, extra train services are set to be introduced next month to and from Scarborough.
The enhancements will be welcome news to anyone who’s promised their little ones a trip to the beach for some sandcastle building or for those in search of some fresh sea air and a large bag of chips.
From 16 August 2021, we will be bringing in some extra services between York and Scarborough as well as starting to run some trains to and from the seaside town, all the way through to Manchester again, increasing connectivity for people.
Commenting on the additional services, Luke Gardner, Long Term Planning Timetable Manager for TransPennine Express said: “Now that the school summer holidays have started, many families will be busy planning days out to keep their little ones entertained and a trip to the seaside is always a firm favourite.
“We are expecting our trains to and from Scarborough to be popular and wanted to introduce some extra services to and from the town to accommodate this. We are looking forward to welcoming our customers onboard and I would encourage people to plan their journeys in advance and book ahead.”
Enhanced cleaning is in place on trains and at stations and anyone planning a day out by train can do so with confidence.
For those looking to travel, tickets can be purchased online via our website or using the TPExpress App where people can now pay using Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal. E-tickets are also available allowing customers to use their phone instead of a paper ticket.
