Stress free travel straight to the Stone Roses
Local rail operator First TransPennine Express (FTPE) is offering Stone Roses fans cheap train and bus fares to Manchester's Heaton Park to see the band's highly anticipated return to their hometown after 16 years.
Gearing up to host a weekend of sold out gigs between Friday 29th June and Sunday 1st July, Heaton Park is expected to play host to 220,000 fans from across the UK, with 75,000 people descending on the venue each night. Fronted by the enigmatic Ian Brown, the Stone Roses are expected to play some new material as well as classic hits such as "waterfall" and "fools gold". They will be supported by various acts each night including Primal Scream, The Vaccines and Kid British.
Stone Roses fans can bag themselves a bargain by opting to purchase return bus tickets to the venue from just £8, a saving of £2 on the normal price of £10, when purchased online via the First Transpennine Express website in advance or on the day of the event whilst on board the train. Tickets purchased on the bus itself however will be priced at £10, not at the reduced prices available prior to travel.
Buses direct to Heaton Park will depart from Miller Street, outside Manchester Victoria Train Station every 15 minutes and drop off directly outside the venue. Manchester Victoria is approximately a 20 minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly and walking routes will be advertised on station posters. Connecting Metrolink trams also operate between the two train stations.
Passengers will be given a wristband when boarding the bus which will be used as a return ticket buses departing back to Manchester Victoria once the concert has finished.
Victoria Tomlinson Marketing Manager for First Trans Pennine is delighted to offer this deal to Stone Roses fans,
"We are proud to be able to offer Stone Roses fans piece of mind when travelling to Heaton Park for their landmark performance back in the city of Manchester. With so many people heading to the venue each night, we hope that our cost saving all-in-one tickets will give passengers peace of mind that their travel to the concert will be as stress free as possible, so they can take in the atmosphere as soon as they arrive at their departing station."
