Who We Are

First TransPennine Express is a dedicated intercity service linking key cities and major towns in the North of England. Our trains operate on the principal routes across the Pennines, linking the major urban areas of Newcastle, York, Leeds, Doncaster, Hull, Sheffield, Manchester and Liverpool. These cities are connected with the Lake District, Lancashire, Cumbria and Scotland. Manchester Airport is connected to key destinations east and west of the Pennines.

We operate around 300 services daily on weekdays and almost as many at weekends and serve 105 stations of which 30 are directly managed by FTPE. We carry on average 78,000 customers every day with 60% of these being leisure travellers. Last year we carried 28.6m customers.

We are a customer-led business committed to delivering the highest standards of safety, performance and customer care.
