Our vision

11 million people live in the North; entrepreneurs and engineers, scientists and sport stars, academics and artists, people from all backgrounds contributing to make the North and the UK more successful. 

If the North were a country it would already be the one of the largest economies in Europe, delivering £300 billion of economic output.  But it has the potential to do much more. 

To prosper the North needs a world class transport network.

We believe it’s our job to help the North grow by providing a rail network that allows faster, more frequent and more reliable connections between the major cities we serve in the North of England and Scotland.
