Serving the villages of Cark, Flookburgh and Cartmel, Cark & Cartmel station is located in an often overlooked area of Cumbria.
Get off your train to Cark and you'll immediately notice the charming former station building - built in 1857, it's now a private residence.
Nearby Holker Hall, the home of Lord Cavendish of Furness, is a popular visitor attraction. Interestingly, the dukes and their guests used to have their own private waiting room at Cark station so they could travel in style.
From 1st April 2016, services to this station will be operated by Northern.
