Why take the train to Dewsbury?
Dewsbury, a former mill town which lies just west of Wakefield, is home to one of the busiest markets in Yorkshire. There's a diverse range of 400 stalls for you to browse, while you'll also find plenty of high street names dotted in and around the old marketplace square.
Once you're all shopped out, take a moment to soak up some local history at the recently refurbished Dewsbury Museum, housed in a charming grade 2 listed building, or pay a visit to the impressive Victorian Town Hall.
On Sundays, trains to Dewsbury are often packed with rugby fans on their way to watch a match at Tetley's Stadium, home of the Dewsbury Rams.
