Why take the train to Howden?
The small market town of Howden is located in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
Many people take the train to Howden so that they can visit the famous Howden Minister. Built around 1390, much of this vast church is now in ruins, but it remains an impressive sight. The 135 foot tower dominates the local landscape – listen out for the bells, which chime every 15 minutes.
And this charming town has plenty more besides to offer visitors, from eye catching Georgian architecture to market days and traditional tea rooms and pubs.
