Group Train Travel

• Eligible for groups of 3 to 9 people only
  

• Customers booked on group discount tickets must travel together on the same service
  

• Advance tickets are available on the majority of longer distance TransPennine Express journeys
  

• Tickets are one-way
  

• Seat reservations are not provided for Advance tickets bought on the day of departure  

• Due to the limited availability and popularity of these tickets, please book early to avoid disappointment
  

• Advance tickets are valid only for the train service for which they are booked
  

• Changes to the date and time can be made before departure, but are subject to an administration fee
  

• Advance tickets are non-refundable

• Additional discounts cannot be applied to this offer, i.e., Railcards

• Discount is 20% off TPE Advance fares.
• Under-16’s to receive 20% off child advanced fare.
• Discount is ONLY for Groups of 10 or more passengers.
• Customers booked on Group discount tickets must travel together on the same service.
• No further discounts (using Railcards, for example) are available for any of the passengers.
• Available on TransPennine Express Services only.
• Quotes given are an indication of the current fares available and cannot be guaranteed until a booking is confirmed.
• Tickets are valid ONLY on the date and train service(s) shown on the ticket(s)/travel document(s).
• Changes to tickets cannot be made on-board the train. If you board a train without a ticket and reservation for that service, you will be required to purchase a new ticket for the journey.
• Prices quoted are valid for three business days from time of quoting, subject to availability. After this time, prices and availability are subject to change and will be re-quoted based on current availability.
• Group discount tickets are sold in limited numbers, are subject to availability at the time of booking and should be booked a minimum of five days prior to travel. Whilst TransPennine Express will try to accommodate all requests within five days of travel, TransPennine Express shall not be responsible for the delivery of tickets within this time.
• Once a reservation has been confirmed, any changes or amendments to time or date of travel and/or group size could be subject to a £10 admin fee and must be done within five business days of the new date.
• If you miss the service on which you are booked, a new ticket will have to be purchased. No group discount will be applied.

If a refund is required, please contact us as soon as possible and we will advise appropriate procedures accordingly. Please find refund percentages as below:

• 29 days or more prior to travel, 90% of the overall ticket charge will be refunded.
• 28-21 days prior to travel, 50% of the overall ticket charge will be refunded.
• 20-15 days prior to travel, 25% of the overall ticket will be refunded.
• 14 days or less, prior to travel, no refunds.
