Seating plans for our trains

Our refurbished 3 coach Class 185 trains are capable of operating services across all our routes. There are 51 in the fleet which can be formed into 3 or 6 carriage trains.

Until 14 December 2019, train services between Manchester and Scotland will usually be operated by our Class 350 electric trains. Formed of 4 carriages, these trains can occasionally be coupled together providing 8 carriages on our busiest services.

From 15 December 2019, these services will gradually be operated by our new NOVA 2 electric trains which have 5 carriages.

Our new NOVA 1 trains are currently being rolled out on the route between Liverpool and Newcastle / Edinburgh and will gradually be introduced on services between Manchester Airport and Newcastle. These trains are formed of 5 carriages.

Our new NOVA 3 trains are currently being rolled out on the route between Liverpool and Scarborough and are formed of 5 carriages and a locomotive.
