TPEXPRESS APP
Our app is the ultimate travel buddy; book tickets, check live train times, and more.
With over 70 trains a day from the North of England and Scotland to and from Manchester Airport, an Airport Advance ticket will save you money and won't have you stuck in a traffic jam.
So smother yourself in sun cream, grab an inflatable flamingo, and start your holiday early by taking the train to your plane.
It’s just a short walk to the airport terminals from the station, just follow signs to the terminal buildings. Lifts, escalators and moving walkways are provided.
Terminal 1 (T1): approx 5-minute walk
Terminal 2 (T2): approx 10-minute walk
Terminal 3 (T3): approx 12-minute walk.
A regular shuttle bus operates from outside the train station and the arrivals hall of Terminal 3.
To help you plan your trip you can take a look around the station before you arrive with my station view.
And if there are a few of you travelling, you can benefit from our group discount of 20% off for groups of 3 or more.
We understand that sometimes flights back to sunny Manchester are delayed and you may be concerned about missing your train; don't worry, with an Airport Advance you can catch the next available TransPennine Express train up to 3 hours after the departure time stated on the ticket. If you are delayed, don't forget to endorse your ticket at the Manchester Airport station ticket office before you board the train.
Fares advertised are correct at the time of publication and are based on Airport Advance standard single fares to Manchester Airport. Subject to availability, only valid on TPE services, buy in advance to avoid disappointment. Only valid on date and service stated on ticket. No refunds available.
Please note, that at least one hour is required from terminal to train (taking into account the time required to clear immigration, customs and baggage collection). Your ticket will not be endorsed should you not leave sufficient time to reach your chosen service before it departs. Your flight details will be verified in the event you are delayed
Changes to travel plans
Changes to time or date of travel must be arranged before departure of the first reserved train printed on the ticket, after which the ticket has no value and a new one must be purchased. Customers will need to present the ticket(s) and reservation(s) when they request a change. The origin, destination and Train Company or route shown on the ticket(s) must remain the same. The difference between the price paid and cost of the next suitable fare for the journey is payable. There is no charge to make a change if customers purchase via tpexpress.co.uk or the TPE App, otherwise a £10 administration fee per person, per single ticket for each change to a journey applies. If customers change to a train on which a cheaper fare is available, the difference will not be refunded.
Easements
Tickets are train specific; however to accommodate inbound flight delays, journeys from Manchester Airport can be made on the next available TransPennine Express service up to 3 hours after the departure time stated on the ticket. Where no services depart within this time, the next TPE service may be used. Passengers wishing to use this must have their tickets endorsed at the Ticket Office before boarding the train. This is the only difference to other Advance tickets.
