As part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade, the multi-billion-pound project transforming rail travel across the Pennines, Huddersfield station is currently undergoing remodelling and upgrade work which will are set to be completed in early 2027.
Following the reopening of Huddersfield station on Monday 29 September, Huddersfield looks and operates differently than before. The station now has an amended platform layout, reducing the number of platforms to three instead of the previous six. Half of the station has been sectioned off to allow for engineers to continue the upgrade works.
