The route to success
When it comes to delivering quality train travel in the North and Scotland, we mean business. We’re investing £500 million to spruce up our existing trains and buy 44 brand new ones, plus we’re adding free Wi-Fi, onboard entertainment and better catering than ever. Isn’t it time you got on board?
Choose train travel for your next business trip and you don’t have to get slowed down by traffic jams or airport queues. Instead, you can check emails or hit that deadline at 100 mph, before arriving in the heart of the city on time.
New trains will be in service from Summer 2018 and a full refurbishment of our trains has begun, with larger seats and power sockets throughout.
We run direct trains between major cities including Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle Sheffield and York, with connections to regional airports too. We also have multiple services between Manchester and Edinburgh/ Glasgow every weekday.
Download the TPExpress App to enjoy free Wi-Fi and entertainment on board services between Manchester and Scotland. It’s up to you whether you focus on clearing your inbox or watching the latest boxset…
Forget crummy coffee and stale biscuits, we’ve got proper Lavazza coffee and fresh pastries on board. Travel in First Class and you’ll enjoy a selection of complimentary refreshments on us.
Train travel is the environmentally-friendly alternative to other forms of transport by a long mile:

All of our fleet use at least 45% less carbon versus travelling by car (our carbon per passenger km is 44.63gCO2e/km versus 87gCO2e/passenger km per average car)
