December 2023 timetable changes

Our train timetables have changed since 10 December 2023, along with the rest of the National Rail network.
 
The new timetable includes some temporary amendments, including some small reductions to services between the north west and north east of England to deliver improved punctuality and reliability to our services. 

The changes allow room for training, which will release train crew, trains and network capacity to enable us to continue to address our training backlog and develop diversionary route knowledge in support of The Transpennine Route Upgrade. 

The changes made from the December 2023 timetable will also provide the foundations and resilience for the December 2024 timetable.

Summary of the timetable changes:

Liverpool Lime Street to Hull Services will operate between Manchester Piccadilly and Hull only and will also call at all local stations between Huddersfield and Leeds.

Manchester Piccadilly to Scarborough
Services will operate between York and Scarborough, with a very limited service through to Manchester/Leeds.

Manchester Piccadilly to Huddersfield (extending to Wakefield, Castleford, York)
Services will be extended once every two hours to York calling at Deighton, Mirfield, Wakefield Kirkgate, Normanton and Castleford.

At peak times, there will be two trains per hour at all local stations between Manchester Piccadilly and Huddersfield.
