Take a train to Edinburgh and you’ll not only get to explore the rich history of the city, but also the city’s enviable film and TV credentials. From novel adaptations such as One Day to superhero movies like the Avengers: Infinity War, the Scottish capital has appeared in a whole range of movies and TV shows over the decades. Start the tour at Edinburgh Waverley Station from the Princes Street exit and the complete walking tour covers 8.5 miles and should take just over three hours. Alternatively, if you go straight from Grassmarket to The Meadows and miss out Arthur’s Seat, this shorter route of 5.5 miles should take about two hours. Please note that this tour includes some steps and uphill walking and may not be suitable for everyone.

Scale the Scott Monument, explore Edinburgh Castle, stroll through The Meadows and stand in the same locations many famous actors and characters have over the years. Take a photo along the route and share on Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #TPEBehindTheScreens and #Edinburgh
