TransPennine Express continues to work hard to keep services running.
What we’re doing to keep you safe:
To protect our customers and staff, we have greatly increased cleaning on board our trains and at our stations particularly focusing on cleaning those areas that customers and colleagues are more likely to touch, such as handrails, door buttons, tables, arm rests, toilets and ticket vending machines. We are using Zoono, a sanitising treatment which provides strong, long lasting antimicrobial protection against a range of bacteria, viruses and pathogens on surfaces. It is being sprayed in our carriages using a fogging or misting machine and is the latest addition to our already increased safety measures.
We have achieved the Visit Britain 'We're Good To Go' accreditation which demonstrates we have met Government and industry Covid-19 guidelines and we have processes in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.
We have introduced clear markings on flooring in areas where people are likely to queue or congregate in our stations and we are providing clear advice to our customers in stations and on trains.
We do not have social distancing labels on our trains, instead we are making all seats available for customers to make their own choice about where to sit in the context of other customers and whether they are also travelling with others from their household. Please keep your distance where possible and leave any aisle seats clear to allow the onboard team to make their way through the train.
Due to social distancing guidelines, there will be space for no more than half the usual number of passengers and it may not be possible to socially distance at all points throughout a journey. If you have an Advance Purchase ticket you should travel on your booked time train.
