The arts, ghosts, gardens and a Python, Sheffield’s got it all
1 Sheffield Winter Gardens
The largest urban greenhouse in Europe. Some 2,500 different plants from around the world and a great café – you’re always guaranteed a warm welcome.
2 Steel City Ghost Tours
Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, meeting at 7.30pm at Sheffield Town Hall steps. No ‘rumour stories’, only wellresearched tales with witnesses in the recent past.
3 S1 Artspace
Devoted to the contemporary arts – expect exhibitions, screenings and exciting events. Check out Simon Bill’s large-scale Op Art paintings over at the Leadmill Tram Depot.
4 Marmadukes Café Deli
How does homity pie – with chunky potato, cheese and sage – and a deli salad sound? This is, without doubt, our fave place in Sheffield for a top quality light bite and great coffee.
5 Michael Palin at the Crucible
Michael Palin takes to the stage on 22 October, with a brand new show discussing 25 years of exploring the world and nearly 50 years in entertainment. Essential stuff.
