Situated four miles west of Scunthorpe, the small village of Althorpe is best known for the King George V Swing Bridge (also known as Keadby Bridge), which connects the Isle of Axholme to the rest of North Lincolnshire. In fact, many trains to Althorpe actually cross this distinctive bridge, which straddles the River Trent.
